Let's talk about using the sticks and the gloves.
I'm not talking about the Zumba Toning Sticks or smelling the glove, but I am talking about a modest sweep of the Brighton All-Stars. Our fearless and modest, non-blog posting, leader Dwayne, (who leads the team in hitting) won the second game with his walk-off triple (originally scored a double but we know he's a triple machine, so what the hell). It was a thing of beauty. Game 2, trailing 5-4, two outs, no one on base; here's how it played out: Doug singles, followed by a Michael R. single. Up steps Dwayne batting in the three spot. Dwayne absolutely crushes the ball over the head of the All-Stars outfielder, who had run down everything all day...two out rally-BALLGAME! I think the pre-game Infield Water Removal Workout helped tune up Dwayne's muscles.
Joe pitched spectacularly in both games, winning the first 3-2, a game which we grounded out only once. Renegades defense was solid all day and the lack of errors this week were directly related to victories. Mike M. and Andrew O. had solid games at the plate. We encourage Andrew to drink more often on Saturday nights if he's going to man center field and punch out three hits. Have a great fourth!
