Another good weekend of softball.
In Game One, we took to the bats and ended up with a 14-10 win. I do not have the book (Tim does), so I have nothing for highlights other than the fact that we scored 14 runs and continued to play some damn good defense.
In Game Two we rallied in the sixth inning for a bunch of runs, thanks in large part due to people hustling and making them throw the ball around.
Tim once again pitched 14 innings like a champion and even legged out a clutch infield single in the rally. He also updated the stats and left his own highlighted. Dave Clegg continues to mash the ball, Dewey got his average back over .400, Mike Rizzo hit his team leading third triple, and Mike M, Ben, Shane and Justin held down the OF despite a brutal sun.
Phil jammed his shoulder diving around like a maniac, Roly was too sick to play, and Dwayne reached base a couple of times, but is hitting a team low .222.
THE ROAD AHEAD
We all know what comes next. Mounds being measured. Rulings being questioned. Hits being dinked and dunked in behind fielders. And games that should be damn competitive. The Reds come in fresh off a sweep of the Bombers at 4-2, having only lost to the Titans. We come in riding a four game winning streak at 4-2. These games will be played at Cleveland Circle and it is Father's Day, so plan appropriately.
